🗞️ Making Headlines

The 97th Annual Academy Awards air tonight at 7PM on ABC. Hosted by Conan O’Brien, the ceremony will feature performances by Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Queen Latifah, Doja Cat, Raye, Lisa and more! Of course, the big question is, what movie will take home the top prize? The ten movies up for Best Picture are Anora, Conclave, A Complete Unknown, Emilia Pérez, Nickel Boys, I’m Still Here, The Substance, Dune: Part Two, Wicked and The Brutalist. Katy Perry and Gayle King are going to space! The two are joining an all-female flight crew on Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin spacecraft this Spring.

• A first look at Shrek 5 has been released and it’s been revealed that Zendaya will voice the daughter of Shrek. Shrek 5 will premiere in theaters Christmas 2026.

• Ayo Edibiri will write and is in talks to star in A24’s Barney movie. The live-action film is produced by Daniel Kaluuya. No plot details have been released.

• A Crazy Rich Asians television series is in development at Max, with director of the original movie, Jon M. Chu, and co-writer of the film, Adele Lim, set to work on the project.

🎭 On Stage

• The Jamie Lloyd production of Sunset Boulevard, starring Nicole Scherzinger, has extended its Broadway run until July 13.

• R&B singer Tank will join the cast of Hell’s Kitchen on Broadway in the role of Davis beginning March 11.

• Heathers: The Musical has officially set details for its Off-Broadway run. The show will have a limited engagement, kicking off June 22 at New World Stages.

• Cole Escola, Conrad Ricamora, James Scull will return to their roles in Oh, Mary! on Broadway beginning April 8.

🎵 In Music

• Gracie Abrams will be honored with the Hal David Starlight Award for New Artists at the Songwriters Hall of Fame this June.

• Sabrina Carpenter has announced a new round of North American tour dates, kicking off in Pittsburgh, PA on October 23.

• Coco Jones has announced her Why Not More? Tour, kicking off in Philadelphia, PA on May 6.

💗 Pick of the Week

The 2025 BRIT Awards took place in London last night, and for this week’s pick, I have to spotlight my favorite performance of the night. Jade Thirlwall, formerly of Little Mix, delivered a theatrical, show-stopping performance of her song “Angel of My Dreams”just moments before taking home the award for Best Pop Act. Her performance was a full story in itself, reminiscent of her early journey in the industry. Through five dynamic acts, Thirlwall seamlessly blends tempos, vocal styles, and even incorporates another song, “IT GIRL,” all while delivering powerhouse vocals and vibrant dance breaks.
